The S's are removed because it's a deesser plug-in. It's not a typo. Get it? I thought it was pretty clever. This plug-in is as transparent as it gets outside of a DS1 IMO. I've tried all the others and they all do ok, but I think Massey nailed it.

Sounds promising indeed.
Say, have you compared it to the Eiosis ES Deesser?

Yes, actually. I thought it sounded pretty good, though it was difficult to figure out at times. When I demo'd it, I was using AVOX SYBIL most of the time and ended up sticking with SYBIL because it sounded a hair more transparent to me and was 100X easier to tweak.
However, I think Massey's Deesser is even easier to tweak with the null listen mode and sounds even better than SYBIL. I was really surprised how well it grabbed S's off a vocal in a master without me going into MS processing. I've also used it on a spoken word and it also tackles that pretty well.
I'm pretty happy with the Massey plug-in at this point and I think the next step is a Weiss DS1 (which is in the queue behind new monitors and a new compressor at this point).
