Steve,

This is so not true:

I don't really know much about anything but making records and running a recording studio. And billiards. And poker. But that's it.

I mean the part about you knowing anything about playing poker.  Haw, haw.  Alliance Poker Tour, R.I.P.

Hey, nice room!  :verifying via handclaps:

Yours truly,

Scott

hi, Steve-

I'm thinking about trying to find some kind of reel-to-reel 8 track recording device. I was hoping you might share some of your ideas on what things to look for. What brands are the best? What models? Is there a certain tape-width that you like better? If you could just tell me what machines you think sound the best that would be great. -- I'm trying to find something that I could maybe get for under $400, but am still interested in hearing about machines that you like even if they are more expensive.

ps I admire your music work a lot. Thanks for all the amazing stuff.

Any suggestions from anyone out there would be appreciated.

thanks, Nathan

Hi Steve,

just a quick one to say Hi... still enjoying my mud brick studio in australia, which when you saw it it was only a pup.

its very much adolescent now (and a bit bloody arogant)

still running tape machines, and i will not give up!

and making records that hopefully count.

even if we tie a knot on the end of the rope.

ah... the smell of 499 in the morning!

maybe catch up in Tuscon
