Need Fairchild 670 tech in LA area
« on: December 28, 2006, 02:02:01 PM »

I have a 670 that needs service in the LA area. It works ok for the most part but the current tech has opted out of finishing the service because it might become a long term project (it needs a couple of tubes not available at the moment). Since this is a considerable investment for my client we would like an established tech in LA with a good reputation to take this on. I can't afford to have any problems with this.

Please contact me via email @ duskb@earthlink.net or via phone at 310-305-2981.

Thanks

Hi,

I would look up Jim Williams at  www.audioupgrades.com  .  I am pretty sure he can fix anthing that runs on electricity. He is located in Van Nuys,CA.

Out,

Robert

...If it needs 6386's, then the only tech who can help is a tech with access to a stash of them... It's getting harder and harder to keep these things dialled-in, regardless of WHO you are!

And you have to hand-select the 3686's even after you find them, many of the ones bouncing round on eBay are ones that most probably couldn't make the cut in a 670.

I have the feeling that I have more experience in my little finger than you do in your whole body about audio electronics..

Hi

It may be senility creeping up on me but didn't I recall that EveAnna had an adaptor arrangement that had two tubes on a pcb that plug into the original tube socket?

May be worth contacting her!

*smacks head* yes, I should have remembered he's out there. I consulted with him on a dog problem on a 670 that he eventually got all straight. He's good!
