Ah! It's great. Strong stuff, but with a nice smoothness. I'd say it's the Sontec of beers.

As US beers go, I like http://www.sierranevada.com/beers/paleale.htmlNevada Pale Ale.

Eastern European beers are a whole load cheaper here.

Pilsner Urquell (Czech) and Zipfer Heller (Austrian) are big favourites in the redtape household.
Some of the http://www.wychwood.co.uk/Whychwood beers are darn tasty, too.
