Hello to everybody!

I hope this message is in the right place.

I found a Neumann/Gefell CMV 563 with M7, M8 and M9 capsules on ebay.

I know that I should be careful buying this old microphone, and especially on ebay (I recently had problems with a UM57's seller who... didn't really have the item probably!).

the pictures aren't very good...
the price seems to be ok.
Do you think the price is good even if I must go through a reshaping of the mic?

It doesn't look bad at all.

You are going to spend 500-600e on "repair" if it is "broken". You need to count with that... that your 1300e mic is going to be more like 1900-2000e mic.

But if you score a good piece, you get a smooth, velvety mic that's not the most detailed thing on the earth, but it has character and certain bigness that fits nicely with some vocals and it does fat overheads (M7).

I don't know about M9 capsule, but M55K (also omni) is a good one for acoustic guitars.
