a good preamp for line signals
« on: January 14, 2007, 11:14:54 PM »

hi to everyone!
I'm going to buy a stereo preamp for recording line signals like from synth and keyboards into pt with 888/24

I don't know what to buy

someone for example told me Neve 1073 DPA is too much coloured

does anyone tried the Millennia TD-1 "Half-Rack" Recording System? I could buy two of these, maybe

any other suggest is welcome!

(my budget is around 3000 euros, about 3800 dollars)

please help!

many thanks!!!

"Line" as in "DI" signals from the output of syths, etc.?  There is no shortage of them... Chandler, Great River, Phoenix Audio, Aurora Audio, API, they all do it.

What I would suggest is that you find a tool that fits your sense of aesthetic for whatever project you're working on... which will mean you'll have to take some time and try out a ton of stuff but that is true for any and every piece of equipment you add to your studio [or at least should be]

Best of luck with the search!!

If you just need a DI... then, I love the Radial DI with the Jensen transformers.  Very nice sound and built like a tank.
