Howdy-

Could Fran (or anyone) point to me to any good sources of information on materials; specifically details like absorption coefficients?

Something biased towards the kinds of materials typically used in studio construction would be very helpful- particularly things like layered partition wall structures, if such measurements exist!

Here is some data.  The ones I've verified seem to have been taken directly from manufacturer's product literature, so caveat emptor and all that jazz:

Just a small warning. Take all acoustic product data with a grain of salt. Not just caveat emptor, as with Foam By Mail's fraudulent data, but because labs vary significantly, especially at low frequencies. For example, measurements of the very same absorbing material tested in two different labs can vary by 50 percent at 125 Hz. At lower frequencies the disparity can be even greater. So a material that's reported as 0.8 is not necessarily better than another that measures 0.7.
