| What audio gear does? At least you wont have to take the software off to a tech.
| Thanks for the question. Most really professional and proven gear will appreciate in value. Mine has
Microphones - u 47, u67 Preamps- Neve 1073 etc Compressors - 1176 etc Speakers (for example NS-10s go for double what I paid for mine). Let's not even begin to talk about instruments.

AHhhh yes that old chesnut.
OK
Now firstly if you considder the current cost of a vintage 1073 or U47 as "VALUE" then you may have some in who will disagree with you.
But to do some maths via my trusty inflation convertor.
http://minneapolisfed.org/research/data/us/calc/Neve 1073 module could fetch US$4K now which is the equivilant of US$755 in 1970 when it was released.
Neumann U 47 as a guess may fetch US$10K if it's working which would be equivilant to US$1K in 1950.
1176LN blackface sold for US$2500 on ebay recently, thats US$508 in 1972.
And I wont bother mentioning the NS10s as I know a friend who gave his away.
So im assuming that no servicing was needed in the last 30 - 40 years?
Maybe someone could fill in how much these items cost when released, im guessing for a 30 year investment I would hardly call these a great return.
Now lets hear about you instruments, I think I have an old Marshall that Jimmi Hendrix pissed on at woodstock.
