Internet Radio Station needs a recording studio
« on: December 28, 2006, 04:42:05 AM »

Hey I'm Dan

I own monsterland Studio in brooklyn
where I make records by a bunch of awesome bands you've never heard of

I am loosely employed by an internet radio station that hires me to record bands and prepare an hour long radio show focused on a live set with a little between song banter and maybe an interview.

The show has become quite popular for them so they want me to come up with more content. I had the idea to have a show that features different studios around the country and even around the world and the studios would be featuring the best music their town has to offer.

so I am looking for anyone with a passion for music who has the capability to record bands live in a recording studio and make it sound awesome and exciting to listen to and knows how to pick the best bands.

the bands can be in any genre they just have to be as awesome as possible.
we want to feature the best underground music there is to offer not really looking for bands with desperate commercial vibe. you know what I mean about how some bands write their songs like if they don't become famous, that their life would lack all meaning.  if you are sitting behind the board recording them and you are not the happiest kid in the world to be recording them than they probably would not be good for the show but if you are passionate about the music and want to feature true artistic expression that is raw, honest, and real than that is what we are looking for.

this is a paying gig though don't expect to get rich off this, at least not for a little while but this is an unbelievable opportunity for you to have an excuse to approach your favorite bands.

for example...one of my favorite bands the slits happened to reform after 25 years and when I saw they were playing shows in brooklyn I called them up and invited them to be on my show. not only did they do an episode of my show which had 600,000 listeners in the first hour alone, but they also recorded two more songs that will be released on a 7" and invited me onstage as a guest keyboardist for three sold out NYC shows!

please write to me at Booking@monsterlandstudio.com I might not check back with this posting for a few days so reach me by email and please include in your email your website address and also please include three bands that you could get on the show

this is a great opportunity and there is a lot of room for growth on all ends

best

Dan

I just emailed you Dan. Sounds very exciting. Yeah, I'd love to hear an example of the show if I can. But as my emails will show, its right up my street, and I'm very up for getting involved.
