NEW Sinatra ALbum coming...
« on: January 03, 2007, 05:14:55 PM »

Of course, the recordings are not really "new," just repackaged.

But Capitol will release "Songs From The Heart" on January 16th.  Many, many great recordings on this.

So I suspect that, even in death, The Chairman will have a chart topping success in yet another year.

He only had them in the

30's

40's

50's

60's

70's

80's

90's

00's

already.

As long as they haven't screwed it all up with modern compressed/squeeky treble mastering, the sound will amaze you.

Hmm...that has to be some sort of record breaker, because even Elvis didn't have anything until the mid 50's, and even a guy like Robert Johnson--although he's widely known and probably one of the most popular artists that were around in the 30's (maybe moreso in hindsight)-- was never a "pop hits" artist.

The last album I purchased was "A man Alone". Like you, I really hope they didn't make it like all the other "re-mastered" products out there. I am betting they made it a psuedo stereo from the original mono, but I hope not.

I can't wait until they electronically create his duets with Nickelback and Kelly Clarkson.

I hear Giles Martin is up for the job.

What they didn't tell you was that not only are they going to give it the Marcussen Mastering treatment but they're going to strip it apart, make everything grid accurate... and then auto-tune!!!!

Every singer should spend some time with Frank for a phrasing clinic.

I agree - but does it need to be THIS disc(s)?
