J, do you mean the same song mixed twice, once through the summing box and once ITB. Or was one mix adapted to the other way of working?

no, that's not charm at all, it's pure annoyance! and i'm not about to spend the extra cash on the blue comp that has switches and is marked better for mastering.
to be honest, i rarely touch that thing anymore. i have basically set where i dig it and i only change the threshold much anymore.
