I do not like to get up on the soapbox very often.
I think I have a responsibility as a moderator of the forum to try and play pretty much by our own rules
That being said
I was invited last night to see a screening of Al Gore's movie
An Inconvenient Truth
NARAS here in Los Angeles screened the movie and after
Melissa Etheridge, who wrote the end title song, took questions along with the producers and the score composer
Having produced Melissa's last record, I wanted to go down, give love and see the film
Now comes the important part
The movie if you are unaware is about Global Warming
I am extremely into politics and stay up on world affairs
but I had not had the time yet to see the film
Now having seen it I must stand up and say to each and every one of you
You must not only go see it and have it change your life
You need to become a part of a world movement to stop the decline of our Earth
I believe the contribution that Al Gore has made by getting the story out, far outweighs what he might have done as president
considering he was once the next president of the USA
This movie will change you
It speaks so clearly on the issues of Global Warming, that you cannot miss it
It is one of the most important pieces of art created ever
Just as a by product, I was so proud of the song Melissa wrote and the how it punctuates the film
Please go see it
tell your friends
tell your neighbors
tell your family
buy a copy of the DVD on Nov 21 and give one to your school
to your kids teacher
we need to make a difference here
and we can
this is not politics
it is not Republican or Democrat or Christian or Muslim
it is about our future
the future of our Earth
