I have them all archived but am not sure if I still have FTP space available here since the recent server upgrades - let me look into it...

My fall class is nearing completion of their midterm project (the original WIMP track was from a class two years ago). If anyone is interested in a WIMP II let me know. The previous one was a lot of fun.

Brad,

Are you cool with this, or should I take it offline?

The objective of the thread was to see if it was possible to perform professional level mastering with prosumer gear available at places like Sam Ash, Guitar Pro, or your favorite neighborhood music store.

For some variation it might be nice to comit folks to certain pieces of gear. For example, I used a finalizer on my previous version. To be honest I don't think I've used the unit since, but would like to try some other plug like Waves. Since Ed used these it would not make sense to have multiple versions of Waves masters if you get my point. But then again the approach may be different.

Please discuss ...

Given the overwhelming response I guess WIMP 2 is a "no go" ...  Smile

I guess my question is - what would the purpose of WIMP2 be?

I see your point Brad. In a way WUMP8 was almost a WIMP.

Still, in the light of G.A.S. and other afflictions, I like the idea of doing a W*MP where participants can use only one tool. (alright, maybe two). Sort of a spartan thing. Back to the barracks and all that.

While I think that the intent of the original thread was accomplished, I thought it would be interesting to try some other tools. For example how good could a master sound with Har-Bal in the right hands?

It's your forum Brad, if you don't want to expend the bandwidth or disk space I understand. There doesn't seem to be much interest other than from the gentleman who resurrected this thread and a few other folks anyway.

Carry on, nothing to see here.
