Well that lasted a measly 200 or so years. It was fun while it lasted I guess. Sounds to me like Bush is trying to take over the world. What's he gonna do when he's out of office? Where is his power then?

Randy,

I hope a Democratic Congress impeaches him before he's out of office.  Then I hope there's a fair trial in which Bush and Cheney are found guilty and go to prison for war crimes.  In the meantime Rumsfeld is fired and retires in disgrace.  With the President and Vice-President out of office, the Speaker of the House becomes President.  That will be Nancy Pelosi.  It may be she becomes the first female President.

I can dream can't I?

Maybe it's not so much a dream, but could become reality. From what I understand people are taking notice, and there are investigations going on. I think this country as a whole is about sic of the corruption, and people are starting to take a stand. The city of Las Vegas is a hot bed right now for this same kinda crap. My dad is seeking a lawyer to sue them, and many others have also. People are being arrested left and right.

Bring down the castle if you ask me...

if the legislation contradicts the constitution then it would either have to be challenged in court, or sent back through as a constitutional amendment in which case it won't pass, since that requires 2/3 vote.

so we should be alright if this actually goes forward, as long as someone challenges it in court.  it is definitely unconstitutional.

Nick,

The Supreme Court has already signaled that they won't overturn this law.

I find this whole issue highly disturbing, and only solidifying what I was already thinking regarding Bush. I've kept saying that once he started preventing his own citizens from talking negatively about the government during the "war" and so forth, the freedom was already lost.

Somehow I'm glad to live where I do, although this thing will probably have a global effect somewhere down the line.

I would like to apologize on behalf of my nation and my president that you are so disturbed.

It must be a huge inconvenience for you...

Let's hope you don't have to break a sweat.

It sucks that I am prevented from speaking out about the "war".

You're right let's hope it doesn't go global, that would suck.

It must be a whole more convenient to type the statements above at the safe distance from USA that you are. Especially considering the fact that you are armed with $4 bottles of wine.

I hope they will last you all winter to keep you warm. Otherwise you may have to cut down those pointy wooden sculptures off your walls and lit up as a bonfire.

It's just that you could be drinking beer for four bucks instead. Think about it.
