A Nice stereo/dual mono compressor towards U$1000

Can anyone recommend me a nice stereo/dual mono compressor for tracking?
People have recommend me the Drawmer and the ART Pro VLA.

I have also considered a more expensive model, like the OCL2 but for tracking and mastering tasks.. (later..2007)

That's a tough order.  The Drawmer 1968 is nice, but around $2k.

The Portico and Rolls are around $1.8.

For $1k, not counting two RNC's, you might try the Toft.

I read a long thread about the Portico Compressor at GS, seems pretty fine. Some people metioned something like U$1400 street price.

I saw a Langevin ELOP sell on eBay this morning for $750 (they're about $1600 new).  I've got one in my DVC, and it's a cool compressor/limiter.
