Materials in Australia
« on: September 13, 2006, 12:29:58 AM »

A quick question to the Australians here, and to anyone else who might know: What is the Australian equivalent of 703-705 fibreglass sheets? And what are good sources for them?

Thanks,

Ben

i e-mailed this question to insulco the other day. as it turns out they make an equivalent to owens corning 703 under license.

actually, this is from the e-mail:

"Yes we do make the Rigid glasswool product made under licence from Owens Corning.

It is 48kg/m3 and comes in sheets 1200mm x 2400mm in 25, 50 & 75mm thick.

The closest distributor to you is Avant Garde Insulations at  3/61 Norman St, Peakhurst. Ph 9534-5366"

you may want to contact them for distributors close to you.

cheers,
glenn

Hi Francis,

According to Owens Corning's website, 703 is 3lb/CF (it says 3.0 pcf, which i assume is the same thing - please correct me if i'm wrong), which is equivalent to what Insulco is stating - 48kg/m3.

Best regards,
Glenn
