Hi,

Which software do you prefer for SRC?
Since I am using only one daw, I am not converting on the fly with Pro Tools HD.

I have been using real time SRC with the tweakhead setting but it is too time consuming.

I have also seen people commenting about "Wave Editor". At Google, I get tons of generic "Wave Editors" for MAC. So,who is the developer? :)

What are your opinions?

Thanks

Hi Alécio,

I don't use PT and consequently don't know its SRC, but I can tell you that I've been very happy with Sample Manager. If one doesn't take the 'pitcher and catcher' route with two DAWs (like me currently) short of spending quite a bit more on Weiss Saracon I think SM does the job well - the cost is reasonable and it works.

The 'Wave Editor' referred to is probably the one also by Audiofile Engineering:

I haven't used it so can't comment, except to say that as with SM it also uses the Izotope SRC algorithm, but unlike SM has control over various SRC parameters.

I'm using Voxengo r8brainPRO with the highest quality settings with great results. Not too expensive either, although it could probably do with an update!

Oh, now I see Sample Manager and Wave Editor are from the same company and same price! LOL

If you just need to do SRC, I'd recommend Sample Manager over Wave Editor. Very easy to use and they just added advanced settings to the iZotope SRC including adjustable filter steepness, cutoff scaling, and pre-ringing for about $20 extra.

I have Wave Editor too and while I've made a few attempts at using it, I find it pretty convoluted compared to the ease of using Sample Manager.

+1 for Sample Manager.  VERY handy little app, besides the outstanding SRC.

Yes Alecio, as Dave G and others have said,

SM is an amazing audio utility and the SRC is top notch.

PT tweak head setting is decent in a pinch,

but no match for sample manager's batch process.

It's quite affordable, buy it, you'll never look back.

Thanks, folks.
I am surprised how such a cheap and simple utitily can surpass a much more expensive system like Pro Tools 8/9 HD.

I have already downloaded Sample Manager demo, certainly buying it!
