Hi,

Should mixes come unmastered and without bus compression?
I can also master my mix.

I think we should stick to mixing. An unprocessed mix gives much better insight in how the mix was made: you can hear how the instruments were balanced, how compression was used in the mix and where the reverb levels are.

If everything is squeezed and limited there's no telling how the mix sounded and this would defy the whole purpose of doing an IMP.

If you want to do mastering you can always go the Brads forum and join the wump.

I have to admit though that I did feel a bit naked sending out a mix without applying a little limiting Embarassed

Hi there,
some information for the people who's files I'm hosting:

  • I'll publish all the links (including mine) when I'm back home    at about 9pm (that's 2pm central standard time).
  • I'll check my PM until about midnight local time (that's 5 pm    CST), so make sure you've uploaded and PMed me before that          time.
  • The new 'Widespread Panic' album is absolutely fantabulous.    Thanks for the wonderful ride, Terry!

chris carter and Vladislavs Korehovs, there's an
additional thread just for the submissions so we have all mixes
