i was thinking a Speck X-sum. really minimalist and clean. use my little bit of outboard during tracking and then maybe a couple inserts with the x-sum during mix down (patchbay?)
mix to the 2 channels of lavry A/D D/A....done.

You may really want to consider an MCI. In terms of parts and service, that's a huge plus.
