a couple of years ago around these parts someone was cold calling trying to unload one, though it may have been 24 track, i can't remember. hey, what you save in buying a cheap machine you probably lose in the cost of floorspace anyway.

Hey,I just realised I am the current high bidder.

Think I will win it for $10.50?

I need a new table.

You just might - But be willing to go for 200.00 if they include a cover.

I recently gave two of them away for a client, and felt lucky about that because they paid for the shipping.  They do make nice cup holders!

So are these things junk or what? A studio near me has one and wants to use it on some upcoming tracks.

I know nothing about them.

Some poeple LOVE them (especially with the Apogee convertors)

I think, doesn't Bob Clearmountain still transfer and mix from them?

I PERSONALLY think digital on tape is kind of the worst of both worlds, but...

I have to say I was one who lovED them. If your studio has one, it will probably either work and your session will sound good (IMHO) or it will drop out like a mother and make you crazy.

I would like to point out however, that with the possible exception of the Soviet T-72 tank, (Iraq 1990) no piece of expensive gear has ever plummeted in value so fast.

Best Regards,

Bill

I know someone who was given one with the Apogee upgrade just a few moths ago.

Same person perhaps?
