Welcome Francis Manzella!
« on: August 23, 2006, 02:22:37 PM »

Guys, please welcome our new acoustics moderator, Francis Manzella.

Fran has been working in the recording and production business for over 25 years. Mr Manzella's broad range of experience including: chief technical engineer at NYC's Skyline Studios, recording and mixing engineer, record producer and touring live sound engineer all combine with his studio design experience to offer clients of FM Design a resource far beyond a typical studio design firm.

For the past 15 years, Francis Manzella Design and more recently, Griffin Audio USA have endeavored to provide their customers with the highest quality of design services and studio loudspeakers as "tools" to make better recordings. This is Francis Manzella's single goal.

FM Design clients include: Blue Jay Studios (MA), Barber Shop Studios (NJ), Deeper Rekords (NY), Egan Media Prod's (VT), Headroom Digital (NY), Masterdisk Corp (NY), Manhattan Center Studios (NY), NBC On-Air (Burbank), NBC Television (NY), Studio at The Palms (NV), Sterling Sound Mastering (NY), Stratosphere Studios (NY), Universal Music Group (NY), WRBS FM (MD).

In addition to being president of Francis Manzella Design Ltd. and Managing Director of Griffin Audio USA, Mr. Manzella enjoys his life in suburban NY with his wife and two daughters. An avid SCUBA diver, Francis enjoys a relaxing dive trip whenever time allows.

Welome Francis!

I look forward to much dialogue about the most (currently) overlooked aspect of our business.

Having just reopened after doing a complte studio remodel, i can attest to the  huge difference this can make, even in the smallest of spaces.

Welcome Francis!

It's a wonderful coincidence that I'm right now in the early
planing stage of redoing the complete acoustics treatment
of my room.

Damn, we'll have to have a scuba thread in addition to the design and acoustics subjects...

welcome francis and thanks for hosting this forum. my room was treated and tuned by ear so i think there is a lot i could learn here.

questions in the other forums involving acoustics theory but not directly related to room design have often been discussed mostly in terms of electronics or dsp theory; so i hope perhaps you won't be shy about adding your perspective to those topics too. (e.g. "new limiter design using physics engine")
