tony- what about Don't take me Alive.  LC at his best.

Don't get me wrong LC is a great musician.  It's the term "Bad Assed" and LC that I'm contending.  He's cerebral, fluid, creative and definitely unique, but not Bad Assed.  Bad Assed is about attitude, what afro-Cuban players refer to as "Masaconte."  It's piss and vinegar.  Do you see my distinction?

No disrespect to Mr Carlton what so ever.

Josie (larry carlton). If that don't grab ya...I feel
bad for you,

A cool intro,? yes.

Bad Assed...I don't think so!

That might be because you are...
drumsound.  Smile

You never want to over-analyze "bad ass" using large
letters and thinking it might only be something
in the kick-ass, rock n'roll category.

A couple that always get played on my IPOD.

Space Station #9 - Montrose (very cool intro before guitar riff)

Ezy Ryder - Hendrix (get the original recording - the new ones have been remixed poorly)

Would I Lie to You - Eurythmics (love the guitar and horns.  No better female rock/pop voice than early Annie Lennox.)

Only the Children or Stay Away - Toto - The Seventh One album - Am sure many of you have your favorite Steve L. guitar licks.
I Can't Drive 55 - Sammy Hagar - the best road song ever!

There is a 5 minute intro shred in a live version of Lou Reed's "Sweet Jane" I sure like.

Yeah, that's a cool one.
It almost sounds like an Allman Bros thing in the beginning, with them purdy harmony guitars.

Hey Fletcher, you may be thinking of Rebel Rebel?

One more after that from the old school, nominated for "best one note guitar intro from the early 60's" is the beginning of the Beatles' "I Feel Fine."
