Roland VS1880 HArd Drive Failure
« on: June 26, 2006, 05:29:46 PM »

I'm not sure if this is the proper forum to post this.  I got a client who has a Roland VS1880 and the external SCSI hard drive seems to have crashed.  Everytime he powers up, it says that the drive need to be formatted.  He's got a lot of data on there.  Yes I know he should have backed up but hindsight is 20-20.  What are his options?  IS it possible that the casing's electronics is screwed?  Does the VS1880 use some sort of proprietory data?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

I would suggest going to www.vsplanet.com and browsing the forums.  That is a user-generated site specifically devoted to the Roland machines.  You will find much information there.
