Hi Jaako,

Can I ask who is Swane?

I looked at the gyraf 10 vari mu comp on their site, is this the same one you use yourself? looks impressive!

I've read everything on it, including stuff Alan's said, and I put a lot of faith in his ears.  His work speaks for itself, so it caught my attention!  I can't wait to hear one in person.

Conceptually it's a very interesting approach, and honestly the price is very very good, because of that approach.  It's truly a dedicated analog "ITB" approach, with connectivity that takes advantage analog's inherently modular nature.  In and of itself, you could really do almost anything you would need to do in the analog domain, but in an environment (chassis) where noise and junk can be more easily controlled.

It appears to be really well thought out and implemented, making color an option, rather than a feature!  It would be a great way for an all-digital studio to instantly have first class analog front end and processor that could legitimately do about anything you need to do, as well as you need to do it.  Obviously we can infinitely add outboard, and other flavors, but covering the basics well is a pretty big (and expensive) order, and the Masterpiece appears to do it and then some.

Again, I can't wait to hear it.

Thas a good point.

This is a bit OT but I was wondering if you guys know of a plug-in that will simply break up the spectrum into low, mid and high bands that could be bused to separate destinations for processing. I use Protools HD and am looking for something that does this, basically a "crossover plugin" with ability to route bands to separate places. Any info appreciated. thanks, Sean

ps. i may make a separate post about this

Tried it many times in several different ways....hardware/software/analog - not impressed with the results......sounds disjointed and weird.....parallel/bussing/band-splitting is great for mixing - for mastering, not so sure - could be wrong.......Darius
