Back in 1972 at Cal State I first heard the line:
"Too many mixers, not enough fixers".
It was true then, more so today. Like in that 1970's sci-fi movie when they ask, "why do you keep the old guy around?" and the answer is "because he knows how to fix the machines".
The repair/service biz is booming now because many don't have the funds to purchase new equipment. Therefore, old gear needs to be kept running.
As for manufacturing, I have a few projects done yet on hold. I'm awaiting for the economy to turn before jumping back in.
As the Gambler says; "You got to know when to hold 'um, know when to fold 'um".
