we mix for the crowd, not for other mixingengineers..
at least I don't;)
I too mix for myself and my clients.
To be honest i don´t care much about the crowd so therefor i do not overuse Beat Detective, Autotune or Mr. Soundreplacer. For me it is more about capturing a certain atmosphere than edit a perfect take. I don´t like that. I had to do it sometimes but i don´t like it! And hey, my girlfriend is able to tell the difference between something edited to death and a more natural mix (especially when its her band i am working on. Haha.) - they play deathmetal and refused to be soundreplaced and all that! Works fine so far.
