Live, outdoors, in a stadium.............I'ld use a SDC made for toms, shelve everything from 1KHz down out of it, gate the hell out of it and then trigger it. That's of course if you wanted it reallllllly loud..........like make your guts and pants legs jump and move loud!

isnt that the same bass drum from a hall and oates video? I think they were trapped inside and had to pop-rock their way out.

Hard to tell without listening first.
is it played directly by a human, ie not remotely? then the SPL can't be too exteme or it would harm the player.
Mic'ing for naturalness or for effect?
