I've searched for this on the "interwebs" but haven't been able to pinpoint the info I'm looking for:

What was the serial number that transitioned the U87 to the U87ai in 1986?

All A's in my serial-number collection date from after 50,000, all previous U87 non-A's stopped short of 50,000. Assume therefore that 50,000 was the serial number of transition between U87 and U87A.
