Renting Equipment in San Francisco
« on: May 18, 2006, 02:16:30 PM »

Dear Awesomeness Which are the Forums,

I'm looking to finish a project here in SF and need the highest quality (and by high quality i mean richness and depth of sound for sparkly guitar, bass, and vocals)setup i can get for cheap.  I was thinking about renting some nice mic pre's and maybe even a good D/A but its been awhile since I've not had school access to nice tools.  Anyone know of reasonable places to rent from in SF?

-Sig

p.s. production is a large dynamic range electro-rock outfit with many organic delicate sounds, looking for a lot of pop experimentaion with unusual textures over simple chord progressions, highest quality chain is needed, although no more than two mics will be used at a time during tracking.

Hi,

I've gotten stuff from David Denny in San Francisco. His website is www.daviddenny.com. Click on audio consulting.

Sometimes Leo's Pro Audio here in Oak-town can hook it up.

David Denny or Steve Jarvis. Both are great guys and will hook you up.  Last I talked to David (December), he was going to be out of town for a while but should probably be back by now....

You might try to get in touch with studio tech supreme, Michael Gore of BASE (Bay Area Studio Engineering) He should be in the phone book in SF.

He doesn't rent gear but he knows just about everyone in the buisness in the SF area.

David and Steve are who I always rented from when I was down there.
