Cascade Microphones
« on: March 05, 2008, 11:11:07 PM »

Have any of you engineers had any experience with Cascasde microphones? They are made in the USA (Olympia WA) and are very cool designs for budget prices. Check out www.cascademicrophones.com and see if you think they are too good to be true.

Thanks

I talked to the guys at Cascade at the NAMM show and they're sending me a sample to try.  I'll let you know more when I get it.

the cascade fathead I and II are two of the most popular ribbon mics out there right now, and won the PAR excellence award for 2007.  do a search over at gearslutz and you will find many positive comments on the fatheads.  i have owned royers, coles, and shinybox, and the fathead is one of the best ribbons i have used.  and the price is ridiculous...

i am not familiar with any of their other mics.

I notice they seem to be making their V57 transformerless LDC only available in a three mic package. Can you not buy just the V57 by itself? Has anyone used or tried this mic?
