What experience do you guys have with azimuth correction software? I work with a lot of tape and the azimuth on some of these old 1/4" sources can get pretty unstable. This is especially true on dubs, safeties, etc., where the azimuth error of the original recorder is added to the error of the player, and then the copy deck, etc. In the end, a static azimuth setting is inadequate.
I'm trying out the Cube-tec Azimuth VPI and it seems to do a good job on material that has a solid center image. I've heard good things about the Cedar azimuth software and hardware options. Any others? Opinions?
Thanks,
GR
