"Known issues in program areas such as Audio Editing, Audio Montage, CD burning, CD grabbing, Master section and many more have been fixed,"

Classic... Makes you wonder how they could have missed all of those bugs in the first place.

WL7 's original release was NOT without controversy. Some things about it are GREAT some not so GREAT. We are not using it on a daily basis since it has some problems that hopefully will be "fixed" in this release. We are still using WL 6 daily and it is still, IMHO, a GREAT program. Somehow in the switch from WL6 to WL7 PG, the author, got his priorities mixed up and produced something that could be run on the PC as well as the MAC but messed with the GUI so much that it is not as "user friendly" as everything had been until WL7. I think this was PGs Windows ME and VISTA attempt which means he tried hard but failed miserably.

FWIW and YMMV

Dream come true for me, though that means it will probably be a good two years before I feel comfortable using it..

That is interesting news.. I'm surprised actually. I wonder if the folks at Algorithmix will finally port their Red, Organge & Blue EQ plugs to Mac then too?

A 64 bit version requires a complete rewrite.

The good news is that a developer might as well do a Mac version at the same time. The bad news is that they no longer have the benefit of a decade or more of de-bugging.

I have learnt Wavelab 7 this evening. I thought it was going to be tricky from the stories I have heard but manually PQing a disk was virtually identical to what it was before. Sure it looks a little different but in general what I have been using it for it seems very easy. Overall very pleased so far. That makes this migration to the new turbo PC more relaxing knowing thats the only major change. Just as well as I now have some CPU destroying EQ's and compressors.

The Export to DDP option was very intuitive and easy. (and very fast as well).

Something is bound to break hard soon I am having too smooth a time with computers right now, lol.

Seems only natural that a long time WL user wouldn't find a new revision perplexing, even if drastically rearranged ;-)

Since acquiring Sonoris DDP Creator and the new version of soundBlade 2.0 I haven't felt the need to open WL7 at all.

But I'm glad WL7 is there at the ready, should I need it's superior time stretch feature.

Jerry, can you take a second and explain the details of exactly how SoundBlade 2.0 came into your hands, and what you think about it?

I waited for a couple of years for a UB version of SB, but in the end went with Wavelab 7 for the Mac when one wasn't forthcoming.

Is SB 2.0 still in beta?
I still only see SB 1.0 on their web site.

I desperately wanted to go with SB after demoing it on my UB Mac laptop. This, even though there were a LOT of issues when it first came out and guys (like me) were trying it on Intel Macs.

Sonic seem to move desperately slow when it comes to upgrades to SB (although they seem to keep PMCD hopping).

Anyway, just wondering about SB 2.0, how you got your hands on it, and what you think of it.

Well thats what I have experienced, didn't even look at the DVD I purchased.

Just saw a lot of people suggesting odd work flows and re-designed windows, lack of intuitive operation. Seems good to me. I am relatively new to Waveab (couple of years) as I have been using SADiE extensively but needed to find a more cost effective option. I still switch between the 2 depending on what needs to be done.

Hey Roger!

Yes sB 2.0 is still in beta.

Many of us die-hard sB users are also beta testers.

So that's the connection.

Can't say too much right now, but I get a sense of critical mass approaching :-)

Probably the best thing for sB 1.3.5 users, to do at the moment would be to add Sonoris DDP Creator to their toolkit, it seems bulletproof.

Unless you want to join the Sonic Beta group.
Best, JT
