I've never opened one up. It seems like everyone who has tried to install rotary switches has given up. Why?

Are the filter networks on daughter boards along with the pot connections? There must be some practical reason no one has done this for the FF board.

Found some pictures from this thread on GS that might help:

Within the link I previously posted Reierson said the following in response to Dave-G:  http://recforums.prosoundweb.com/index.php/mv/msg/27462/0/0/0/

It's tempting to want to gut this thing, put it in a 3U chassis with actual switches and proper legending on a custom faceplate.
I mean, it sounds great, but feels a bit silly as I still document it like "+2clicks @ 1click left of 2k, Q=3 clicks right of 0.6"

I've actually done that. And while you're in there you can do things like changing the step sizes, ganging for stereo, adding individual bypasses, etc. The parts count and cost adds up surprisingly quickly but if you like the circuit it can be a good way to go. Fun to do as well."

Ooh .. I'm haunted by my own words. But I'm still counting clicks.  Greg, have you posted any photos of what you came up with?

I do like those knobs, Graemme. They do look like they could help.

0.25" shafts all-around

These are the gloss black units. If I was to do this again, I'd order the matte-black ones. I'm kinda' blind in my right eye and lack a lot of depth perception...the sculpting on these knobs seems to make it easier to see what I'm doing (not to mention the white indicator line instead of the stoopid little dot.)
