They say the heart of Rock & Roll is still beating, which is amazing if you consider all the blow it's done over the years.

"The Internet enables pompous blowhards to interact with other pompous blowhards in a big circle jerk of pomposity." - Bill Maher

"The negative aspects of this business, not only will continue to prevail, but will continue to accelerate in madness. Conditions aren't going to get better, because the economics of rock and roll are getting closer and closer to the economics of Big Business America." - Bill Graham

I'll post a picture of me in ruby slippers, if you send this post down to Kansas.

Techinically, it's violated the International Color Formatting Treaties.

if you ever heard/see documentation from the poor citizen of Auschwitz.. they are not able to live.. I mean.. someone wanted to organise a popconcert.. no.. not possible.. to many guys killed 60 years ago..
one company (rubber) wanted to move there (ground is cheaper) and build a factory.. no not possible.. the glue is made of bones (NOT HUMAN bones) and it smells funny.. so its not good for Auschwitz..

blahblahblah..

long story short.. poor guys there

Yeah, poor guys who were killed there.

If the conditions in the city are as bad as you say and have been so for the last 60 years, why people still live there? they should "get over it" and move elsewhere.

why not just put them in trucks and move them out by force?

...for their own good, of course

(to the sounds of "ride of the valkyries" mashed with "i don't know how to love him")

Anyone who has not heard of Leni, or has not seen seen TOTW, is not very well-rounded.

I think that's accurate.

George, if you were being funny and I was being touchy, i apologise.

I'm usually NOT at all touchy... more of a nothing's sacred kind of guy actually.

but I suppose even *I* felt "too many died 60 years ago" sounded a bit DISMISSIVE.

If i read it wrong, then sorry.

after a 2 week "vacation" does the thread move back to work at Whatever Works?

is it a PAID vacation?

This thread sux except for /0 posts.

The subject is only slightly better than something I would come up with.

That said there are a lot of comments.

Since it is in my forum (the REP) I feel it necessary not to let some of the comments here go unchallenged...

Saying anything close to "get over it" is total BULLSHIT.

I don't want to lecture anyone about the Euros or WWII.

So let's just leave it that there would be many people still with us that had a chance to live long fruitful lives but instead were incinerated by the populace here.  It wasn't five guys on a binge.

It is never time to "get over it".

And

Get this...

IT DOESN'T MATTER THAT THE MAJORITY WERE FUKKEN JEWS!!!!"

THEY WERE HUMAN FUKKEN BEINGS

THAT'S ALL.

CAN YOU GET OVER THAT?

I am so sick of the minimizing of this shit over here.

It's the same shit as living in the South and listening to their bullshit.

Not sorry about the rant....

I love yas Tikker, don't go changing.

I think the only acceptable use of something as terrible as a death camp, would be for mimes... and anyone who likes mimes.

HOLY SHIT! HE REALLY LOOKS LIKE HE'S IN A BOX!

Brian, I don't think that the objection is whether or not the play is anti-semitic.  I think the objection is the insensitivity of having a musical at a former death camp.  The fact that it's JCSS I'm sure doesn't help, but I don't think that's the main objection.

Sure. They should play "The Passion of the Christ" instead. Or "Journey to the occupied lands". Or better yet, James Longley's "Gaza Strip". Too bad that "Yom Kippur War" didn't go any deeper on both perspectives... like when James Miller tried to explore it and was murdered by the invaders.

I wonder if they play any music around the Jordan river's valley, Mesopotamia or the delta of the Ota river...
