I don't understand how someone can invest so much in a studio and necessary equipment, and let a cat walk all over everything.  But hey, if it's your home studio, you do whatever you want.

But as far as having animals (cats, dogs, birds, whatever) in a commercial facility, it's very unprofessional.  The cats at Electrical are reason enough for me to never book a session there.

There was a cat at a major studio on memphis for years. I think it was just there so the interns would have to clean it's shit up and get tired of it and quit. There was one at another studio here too, one day it got in the control room and ate a few cables. 2nd to last straw. Then got in again, jumped up on an NS 10 and knocked it onto the Neve VR bending a few filter and comp knobs. Now the cat is at a happy home at a vietemese resturant. just kidding, i think one of the engineers took it. i believe in NO pets in studio. Unless they are penthouse pets or playboy bunnies.

My cat screens clients and chases the studio's namesake.

Feline friends have no place in the studio. Unless, of course, you are in to doing textured drywall.

I always let my cat Wella wander in and out of my studio setup. It's a pain in the ass sometimes (I swear there's a meow or two on takes...), but I always find it funny. She'll sit and mix with me too, right on my lap. It's sort of morale boosting....she'll like anything, just as long as she can be around me doing it. She's truly something special.

Now the internet---she don't like that too much, she always walks in front of the keyboard and gets in the way, but the console she never ever goes on. Never had to tell her that, either.

So what kinda cat should i get for a better sound in the control room?
I read that Siammes are good for those satin highs and punchy lows if you get two of them they are great for master stereo balance.

But the british short hair cat is suppose to be the best
but the prices these day are ridiculous for a british short hair cat.
I know, I know there are modern versions(clones) of them made from companies like Dan Alexader,Brett Averill, Vintech, ect.
which offer them at 1/2 the cost of an original

then there's plugin versions which some people swear that you can't tell the difference.

As you can see, Echo likes hanging out with me in my office.  Unfortunately she things the mouse cursor is the best show on television.

I have a studio cat, but he stays in the office.  He even has his own webcam.

I don't believe you.

If that cat had his own webcam he'd be pointing it towards mice and food and stuff. Not aim it towards himself.

I've always liked working in studios with cats.  I've had several interesting experiences with cats leaving the control room when the music was bad, and sticking around when it's good.

My own cat tends to go after the LEDs on my Keypexes and Gain Brains when I'm mixing...

One of the owners has a chihuahua that runs around the upstairs offices.  I don't think she's ever seen the inside of a studio.

She left a couple 'treats' under my boss' desk a couple times though.  Laughing
