Author Topic: alright...so how were the drum sounds on the last couple of neurosis albums achieved?  (Read 2502 times)

i absolutely LOVE the drums on a sun that never sets...that sort of dry, yet still powerful and in your face tone kicks my ass everytime

anyways...was it a specific decision to get this sort of sound from the drums that then entailed using special techinques to do so, or was it something that just sort of happened with the drummer and the room? i know a lot of their previous work has a somewhat similar sound, which leads me to think that the drummer(or his kit) had a lot do with it, but i have a feeling that there was something else done during tracking and mixdown to achieve this tone.

I haven't heard those albums but its good to see someone actually use drum sounds they recorded and not just replace everything later. At least I think so. No one has said that yet anyway.
