Some clients have the foresight to check in before or during mixing. What do you ask for?

Yes, I was really just bein a wise guy.
So here's what I say.
Analog is fine, not slammed. With 1/2 inch at 30, hang around 0 at +6/185 on 456.
Deliver bounced files in the same bit depth and sample rate the session was mixed in.
I don't mind a little limiting if the client has a fair ammount of experience and if an unlimited mix is also supplied. Sometimes the limiting a mixer applies could be the magic I'm looking for (or not) and sometimes it might suggest a direction I might otherwise not think of (or not). Just because these people arent ME's, doesn't mean they absolutely have no ideas about what the final oucome should be.
Vocal ups in addition to choice mix.
Levels should be conservative as well. We like headroom. +4 to +8 VU.
I like stems. Simple 6 channels with rendered FX. Instrumental, lead vocal, bg's. Its sooo much easier to just open a limiter or de-esser plugin on the lead vocal track or nudge the level up or down here or there as opposed to trying to accomplish the same thing on two channels.
Really, aside from levels, I like to let people do whatever they want. Most of my people are indy and want to maintain their nonconformist vibe.
