I must admit Ken Scott makes
a convincing argument.
Sorry for the funny spacing
but I've no pan pot for
this message. Barry
Oh Fuck this. It was really funny but the formatter won't do it.
(whiney) I had half my reply on the left and the other half on the right with no center. You know, 'cause we're talkin' about pan pots and Ken Scott and you know..... it was funny.....
Fuckin' formatter...

Weren't some of these recordings mixed with a synthetic stereo? Or would that be called bynorual?
I remember reading this somewhere too. Maybe I'll find it in an old magazine.
It's called pseudo stereo. putting the high end on one side and the low end on the other is a really cheap and awful sounding way to create a pseudo stereo mix imho. Some tracks on my copy of Magical Mystery Tour were treated with that kind of pseudo stereo effect. Are they supposed to be like this?
I only have a hardly legal russian CD pressing with a bonus disc. Bought it on german ebay, wired the money to a german bank account and recieved a little package from belorussia two weeks later

Yes, Tom. Exactly like that...
Before I felt let down by the formatter...
Now I feel let down and stupid. Thanks Tom...

There were also boxes that made rechannled stereo... Orban made one, for one.
It essentially boosted some frequencies on one side and others on the other... but it did it in a box with a 'width' control rather than having to do it manually.

For those following the Geoff and Ken show, here's the latest:

I have an article by Ken Scott that was in the Oct-1980 Mix mag. I scanned it, but it wouldn't post, plus the quality was poor. I'm going to try to copy it, then scan the copy and see if that works. I often have to do this for faxes and maybe it will work for scans

I only use cruelty-free stereo, myself.

Certain pains an animal might feel, are directly related to 'air', and 'punch'.
It might just be psychological, but I am not taking any chances.

What is it with O names?
Oram; Father of Brittle Eq
Orban; Father of induced intermodulation

If you listen carefully and think about it...
Mushy, bland mixes translate well into any format -- mono, stereo, surround.

Funny, because my dad used to say, "Laugh, and the world laughs with you. Cry, and I'll give you something to cry about."
