Just listened to the first Danzig album after not hearing it for several years.  And I've got just one question-Do I hear some fucking hand clap samples behind the snare?  Listen to She Rides and say it ain't so.

I love Danzig!    And yes, there is some really washy cheapo sounding shit going on there with the drums..  Although John Christ sounds beautifull on 1 -4.  And Glenn himself sounds amazing on danzig 2 and 3....   I imagine they had the "Rick Rubin" cocktail on that ,, his usual Neumann/Neve/LA2A/2-inch.  With that LA2A SLAMMED to the max!!

Glenn did the production himself on 3. It's pretty good although a bit sloppy, which I actually dig. Listen to the envelope of noise around the vocals on "How the Gods Kill". I always wondered what they were getting from that particular signal chain that justified that amount of noise. Glenn would sound amazing through a '57 and a mackie.

But someone needs to tell him to stop whatever he is doing on those new records.  I am certain I could make a better recording for him,,,  in my home studio!!

Any ideas what happened?  If you haven't heard the new stuff by all means go see what im talking about.
