I own a '81 JMP Lead 100 that IS the Marshall sound. All knobs to 5 and it's Back in Black. Completely. However, if you're going for more of a Nu-Metel sound, not your amp.

I also own and prefer a couple of JMP's (both '76's and both 100 watt models).
I came of age when JCM800's were new and I owned one. All my friends poo pooh-d it because it wasn't a JMP.
I can get good tones from a JCM800 but I think they lack the "bark" of the JMP. Different crayons for different drawings, ya know.
But to me, Back in Black is Plexi.
IMO, the most underrated marshall are the Lead 12's made in the 1980's. Find 'em before they get expensive. Solid State, yes, but every inch a marshall. BTW, not the head/cab deal, but the combo.
