I had some channels which were out of phase on my desk (Trident Fleximix) which was not a problem for non stereo signals so I could work around it,
Now I've been recapping the desk - the phase problem remains which is weird because I thought it might have been a cap problem..(?)..
I can only surmise any phase issues must then have to be occurring between the mic XLR and xformer / the xformer itself.
Comparing the channels the wiring / wire colour scheme looks exactly the same from the XLR pins to the input xformer
Has it ever occurred in human history that there was some problem or mistake with the Xformer itself?

most desks are single-ended internally meaning that a 180 phase issue would probably be looseing the hot signal on the balanced input connector. so yes it should be in the transformer area of the input.
