i'm also likely going to purchase protools m-powered in the near future. i'm a little concerned about any differences it may have with regular protools, but i've never been impressed with protools LE hardware & i wouldn't be using it anyway.

from what i can tell i should be able to work on any protools LE session with m-powered, although you never can tell unless you're doing it. is there anyone that could say for sure?

regards,
glenn

Well, I've had no problem going to and from Regular PT's to M-Powered. So I'm sure LE will be fine.

I see that criticism of PT's is not allowed in the "whatever works" forum.

No, that's not it at all.  We have just had SO MUCH of the...

"It's terrible."

"No it's great."

"Digi are Corporate Power Mongers."

"No they're not."

"Nuendo is better."

"SAW is better."

"DP is better."

"No, I love PT."

"Digidesign is The Devil."

"Digidesign helped my Grandma cross a busy street."

...etc., etc.

I don't want anther 32 page wankfest.

Plus, mainly, the answer didn't address the poster's original question, which was

[Should he get LE or M-Powered?]

That question more rightly belongs here; I should have moved it the first day.

Best regards.

i noticed on your m-powered forum there is an announcement regarding importing & exporting audio. is m-powered capable of import/export to or from alesis hd24 as it is (as i have seen done on regular pro-tools LE), or does extra software need to be purchased? for that matter, is importing any other protools session possible as is?

cheers,
glenn

Man Digidesign is the devil. Even I feel compelled to buy PT in some form just to say I have it.

As I recall, except for the fact that you have to use the appropriate hardware with each app, the only functional differences relate to video related functionality.
