so far the records you guys have named fit into one of these two categories, if not both.
1. the production crew involved was top notch seasoned pros and could make a 1" 16 track do something useful.
2. the records' sonic qualities were manipulated to the adat sound and the vibe of the record was built around something they could not control. equally as genius as #1, but still doesn't make adats cool, or even good.
either way, adats still suck. if you like that brittle, thin sound, then adats are for you. i guess i shouldn't be so surprised, lots of people like SM-57s.
