is "i like experimenting with compression but realize it can sound great or atrocious at any given time and although it's overused on modern records, i end up using a fair amount of it on individual mix elements." an option?

i vote for that one.

I hate to break the bad news here, but Compression just phoned me and, after some rather unpleasant interrogation, finally admitted to actually being the devil.

As I have used it once, I was shocked to have participated in this.

I love compression, but hate excessive compression. I love a good solo in a song too, but not four wanking concurrently throughout the entire song. That would be fusion.

I don't like the Mercedes brand.

I'll stick to the rambler.

I can't find my choice in the poll???

For me it entirely depends on the instrument and material. For certain typs of metal I absolutely love it crushed into oblivion. Other types of metal I kinda like a natural more open and untamed sound.
Classical.... Jazz....

Country should be crushed until nothing escapes the output but thats just me Wink

Peace,
Dennis

I love beer but rarely would I have it with breakfast...

Compression can be the answer or it can be the problem.

I have nothing against compression. You could even say that I like compression. Some of my best friends are compression

But I wouldn't want my sister to marry one.

Those old things? Smile. I've been using them as space heaters; I'd better go and dig up the manuals...
