how to add a hpf to this mic circuit?
« on: January 02, 2006, 06:54:05 PM »

I have made over a dozen of the scott dorsey shanghi mic mod.
It is a electronic balanced (no transformer) circuit.

The mic has a lot of proximity effect. I'd love to add a switchable hpf at 80Hz. Do I have to do the filter cap and resistor twice? one for each side of the circuit? where should I grab the signal to go to the filter(s)?

What values for the cap and resistor? 6800Ohm and 470nf cap seems close?

here is a link to the circuit.

Thanks for tolerating my crude electronic knowledge.

I have built quite a few with c2 and c3 at .22 with no roll off I can hear...you might try .02
