It's true the left hand is the side of judgment. And in some cultures, people wipe themselves with their left hands and eat from the community food bowl with their right.
I would expect lefthanders here to be 3% of the population as they are in the general population.
Ambidexterous: left handers are truly ambidexterous. And I don't mean they mix with both hands, etc. It is extremely unusual to find a truly left handed person -- a person who does everything left handed. Most left handers switch between left and right.
I eat right handed but write left. I bat right handed and am right footed. But I throw left handed. My right hand is the hand of precision (so I cut tape right handed) but my left hand is the one with dexterity so when I play guitar, I have the pick in my right hand but finger the strings with my left.
I think such things are true of most left handers. And we are proud to be left handed no matter how we've been viewed throughout history.
