A good friend once told me an analogy that his studio partner made about tracking vs mixing.....
"Mixing is like having getting to have sex with a hot chick after someone else did all the work to get her ready for you!"
Take it or leave it, I thought it was funny, and I love mixing and tracking.... though I get a little tired during the "play back and pick the best take" sessions....
