Yah, Ed's room looks killer. Very open and inviting.

always always always love that lamp

Do you really love the lamp, or are you just saying it because you saw it?

i think the lights worked into the ceiling cloud really put ed's room over the top.

ed, do you keep the acoustic handy for strumming along with tunes you really like?

My son has that lamp in his bedroom. Maybe I should bring it to the studio.

Thanks for the compliments guys.  yes. I play with tunes while capturing. I also I play often & I love that guitar... by far the best acoustic I have ever played (Froggy Bottom).
The lamp was left dirty in the garage by the previous owner.. go figure.  FYI the lamp is analog it must go up to at leat 100khz ::)

Here's a photo of the new room I finished last week.  Though I don't post here often I stop by to read up at least once a week, refreshing to read mostly civil intelligent conversations on a forum.  Thanks so much everyone for advice from everything from DIY transfer consoles to DDP issues with waveburner and many more.  e

Jonas... I'm out in Nacka, would love to get a fika and check out your place as well.

Regarding the black, I have no idea what I was thinking.  These things seem to take on a life of their own, last week all I could do is laugh when I came to the realization the place looks like I had Darth Vader come in and do the design.

Hey Eric, are those handles I see on the front wall edges?

yes they're handles. I set up the front and sides so they could be moved a bit to do some fine tuning.  The sides are mounted on giant home made hinges, after I finished up realized I need to get in and out of there to store some junk, junk with good absorption coefficients that is.

here's a pic of my new room....

I just started doing something similar with my keyboard & mouse, putting them on little stools beside my chair... I even put the monitor on a little hassock down in front of me so that it's out of the way of the speakers... kinda sucks a bit looking down slightly, but I prefer it to having the monitor off to the side. It's really nice to get rid of the desk & have a nice open space in front of you.

Really nice to see all these cool spaces, there are some really great ideas out there.
