It's going to get much worse until the power fails. Thank God for the Chevy Volt.

Anonymity is the corrosive that will ultimately eat the internet.

Agree 100%. People will do things when they are anonymous (or at least believe they are) that they would never dream of doing in person.

I'm even more pessimistic than that.  I think as people are becoming used to being anonymous assholes on the internet, and as people conduct more & more of their interaction with others through the internet, people are becoming worse & worse in person.  People get used to acting/thinking a certain way so much that they take their online personas offline eventually, especially when there is so much reinforcement of such behavior on reality tv and talk radio.  The best antidote is lots of interaction, especially in person, w/ people who behave in a more civilized manner.

Agreed, Darin.

My younger brother pointed out a few videos on that made me sick. One was a guy who travels around recording himself destroying people's cars with a tire iron at redlights while they are trapped behind other people.

There were other vids of people runnning out of nowhere, and punching total strangers in the face. I don't remember where those were. I was too sick to look.

If that is your level of interation with people.. well..

I'm beginning to think that appropriate internet communication & behaviour should be taught in school.
