Well, I have to reckon that it's possible that this mic had amplificated some big lies and not great music, but I opened it and found a AC701 inside. The capsule seems a 84 type...
any hint with the model?
regards
:)
edit: it's a tabletop model. like 45cm. high. Can it be a km64 variant?. I'm curious because I bought it as an U64 which can be feed with some PSUs I have. When I received it I noted the 6pin connector (small tuchel, 5pin 270º plus center) the body doesn`t say model. It has s/n.

That would be the KM 64P. The attached page is from Neumann's 1966 catalog.

Short-version answer: Similar model to KM64 (KK64/74/84 mylar cardioid capsule) with goose neck.

Thanks Klaus!!!. I knew you'll know. :)
So it can use KM64 PSUs but not ANT AC701 PSU, is that correct?

If you look at David's picture from the Neumann catalogue, you will see under "power supply" that this mic will work with AC701 supply types with DIN connector (Neumann's NKM series) and even when there is a pattern control on the power supply (like Neumann's N52).

Thanks again for this VERY useful information.
What if the PSU is for AC701 tubes but doesn't use a DIN connector? Has it some different voltages or can it be used the same with a proper connector?
Maybe a newly built PSU is a better/safer route?

Any well-built power supply that puts out proper, well regulated and filtered voltages will do.
DIN refers to the connector type, so if you are handy with soldering and metal construction, you can add a DIN female connector to a power supply's output panel.

Thanks!
BTW: I decided to go the new power supply route. Modern PSU connectors, no check/recap. Easier. :)
